Are you brave enough to tackle the world’s longest, fastest urban zip wire? Back in London until 15th September is Zip Now, an absolute must for adrenaline-junkies: the zip wire is 100 feet high and 225 metres long, and whizzes you past some of London’s most iconic landmarks at speeds up to 50 kilometres per hour!
Starting in one of London’s top playgrounds, Archbishop’s Park just behind Waterloo station, your thrilling ride will take you past Lambeth Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament – an opportunity to see the city like never before! There are four parallel zip wires, so friends can fly together; and the unspeakably daring can choose to fly backwards or brave the “Mega Drop” – a free-fall jump from the 12 metre landing tower!
Pouches are provided for valuables, and free lockers are available for small bags and coats. Anyone aged 8 and above can fly – although adventurers between 8 and 15 must be supervised by an adult. There are some excellent photo packages available, too: as well as digital pictures of your flight, you can get a GIF and “superzoom” of your launch.
After your ride, take a stroll down the Southbank to recuperate – or perhaps enjoy watching others brave the hair-raising flight! Archbishop’s Park is a single tube ride away from us at the Mercure Hyde Park: come back and enjoy a relaxing evening with us after your terrifying ride.
